A Valley Stream neighborhood in Nassau County, Montauk Point Lighthouse at the island’s eastern tip, and a Long Island vineyard. EVERNET supports Long Island businesses remotely from Hartford, Connecticut, with on-site visits for projects.
Managed IT for Long Island
IT support with clear ownership of who handles what.
Long Island’s Nassau and Suffolk counties hold professional firms, healthcare practices, manufacturers, contractors and family-owned businesses, many with a few dozen employees and no dedicated IT or marketing staff.
Long Island businesses rarely need more technology. They need someone accountable for the technology they have: a help desk employees actually call, patching and backups that happen without reminders, and a plan for the next hire, office or software change. EVERNET takes that on as a managed service or in a co-managed arrangement with your internal IT staff, with responsibilities agreed in writing.
Who we work with
Small and midsize businesses and professional firms, with fully managed or co-managed IT depending on what you already have in house.
What a managed agreement covers
Day-to-day employee support, Microsoft 365 administration, hosted phone, patching and monitoring, backup and recovery, security essentials and vCIO planning.
If you already have IT staff
Your team keeps the duties it wants to keep. EVERNET adds capacity, monitoring, after-hours coverage or specialist work, with clear hand-offs.

Doing business on Long Island
New York’s breach law applies to every Long Island business that holds residents’ private information. Under General Business Law §899-aa, affected people must be notified within 30 days of discovering a breach, and the Attorney General, Department of State and State Police must be told too. The SHIELD Act (§899-bb) adds a duty to maintain reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards. Firms licensed by the Department of Financial Services also answer to 23 NYCRR 500, which has required multi-factor authentication for all users since November 1, 2025.
Geography shapes the plan as well. Superstorm Sandy in 2012 left much of Nassau and Suffolk without power for days, so we design backups, cloud access and phone failover so work can continue after a coastal storm. Many staff ride the Long Island Rail Road, the busiest commuter railroad in North America, and work from home part of the week, which makes secure remote access and device management part of the baseline. Practices that refer patients to large systems such as New Hyde Park-based Northwell Health also need HIPAA-ready IT.
What to work through.
Where Long Island businesses usually start.
Help desk and device support
Day-to-day support for employees, Microsoft 365 administration and device management, with requests tracked and reported.
Cybersecurity essentials
Endpoint protection, email threat protection, multifactor authentication and security awareness training as part of the agreement.
Backup and disaster recovery
Workstation and data backup with restore tests, so an outage or ransomware event is a recovery, not a crisis.
Co-managed IT with your internal team
EVERNET fills the gaps alongside an internal IT person or team, with responsibilities agreed in writing.
Technology planning (vCIO)
Business reviews, budgeting and vendor coordination so technology decisions are made before they become urgent.
Office moves, growth and change
New hires, new locations, phone systems and software changes handled as planned work rather than emergencies.

It is difficult to put into a review just how much we have valued this partnership. They have gone far beyond being a vendor to the Tarrant County Bar Association — they have become genuine supporters of our organization and the work we do. They have worked with us on everything from building our public-facing legal help website to guiding us through a complete rebranding and logo redesign. With every project, they take the time to understand our organization, our members, our mission, and what we are actually trying to accomplish rather than simply delivering a product. But what has impressed me most is how invested they have become in our success. They show up. They attend our events. They celebrate our wins. They bring us new ideas and look for ways they can help. When we work with them, it truly feels like we have another team in our corner. Our Bar Association is better because of this relationship, and I don't say that lightly. They have consistently gone above and beyond for us, and I am incredibly grateful for the creativity, responsiveness, enthusiasm, and genuine care they bring to everything they do. I cannot recommend them highly enough.Posted on Facebook![]()
