Design approach
An editorial approach to a legal biography
Rowthorn Law needed a website to introduce an experienced legal professional with an extensive record. The challenge was length: a full biography can overwhelm a visitor if it is presented as one block of text. The brief on this page called for a restrained, long-form site that leads with a concise introduction and portrait, uses typography to manage the biography and finishes with a clear contact route.
The archival design proof is presented in black, white and gray. On desktop, a black header carries the firm name and two simple links, About Us and Contact. Below it, a grayscale image of a waving flag forms the opening band, followed by a formal portrait and the attorney’s name in clean capitals. The mobile view shows the rest of the page: the biography broken into short sections, each introduced by a dark heading bar, ending with contact details. The caption “A short opening. A structured biography.” sums up the approach. The monochrome palette keeps attention on the person and the credentials.
