Tarrant County Bar Association + Foundation: Identity

Unify the association and foundation through related marks while preserving their distinct roles.

Tarrant County Bar Association + Foundation

Design approach

One family, two institutional voices

The Tarrant County Bar Association and its foundation are related organizations with different roles, and they needed identities that show both the connection and the difference. The brief on this page was to unify the two through related marks, build the family around coordinated TCBA and TCBF monograms, pair formal seals with everyday stacked and compact signatures, and document color, clear space, minimum sizes and production variants so others can use the identity correctly.

The artwork shows spreads from the two visual identity standards guides, one labeled Association and one Foundation, with navy, gold and white color swatches. Each guide opens with a deep navy panel describing it as a concise working guide for staff, designers, printers, vendors, sponsors and partners. The facing cream page states that three coordinated marks create one clear, flexible and recognizable brand, then shows them: the primary stacked logo with a large serif monogram above the organization name, the official seal and a compact monogram. The association version pairs navy with gold, while the foundation version swaps in green for its name.

1. Build the family around coordinated TCBA and TCBF monograms.

2. Pair formal seals with everyday stacked and compact signatures.

3. Document color, clear space, minimum sizes and production variants so the identity can be used by others.

Why it works
The related marks make the two organizations recognizable as a family while preserving their different roles.

The deliverable is a coordinated identity for the association and foundation, with distinct monograms, formal seals and an eight-page standards guide. The monograms make the two organizations recognizable as a family, the seals cover formal and official uses, and the stacked and compact signatures handle everyday materials of different sizes. The standards guide documents how to apply each version, so staff, printers, vendors and sponsors can reproduce the marks consistently without needing the original designers.
