Cybersecurity for Texas
Reasonable safeguards, documented and maintained.
Texas businesses range from the law firms, financial and energy companies of Dallas, Houston and Austin to San Antonio’s healthcare and military-adjacent economy, Fort Worth’s professional and industrial base and the fast-growing suburbs of Plano, Frisco and Arlington.
Most Texas businesses do not need an enterprise security program. They need the controls that stop the common attacks, email compromise, stolen passwords and ransomware, put in place properly, documented and kept current. EVERNET starts with a risk assessment, fixes the gaps in priority order and keeps the safeguards running as part of a managed agreement.
In Texas, EVERNET’s work includes the Tarrant County Bar Association and Foundation identity, the TCBA Law Help website and the San Antonio Bar Association identity, alongside IT and marketing for law firms and professional practices.
Where we start
A risk assessment of identities, email, devices, backups and vendors, with findings ranked by likelihood and impact.
What protection covers
Email threat protection, endpoint detection and response, multifactor authentication, password management, patching and security awareness training.
Compliance preparation
Documented policies and technical evidence for insurance questionnaires, client security reviews and frameworks such as HIPAA, CMMC or NIST.
Cybersecurity is usually delivered alongside managed IT; see cybersecurity services for the full scope, or explore pricing.
Doing business in Texas
Texas law sets firm deadlines once a breach happens. Under Business and Commerce Code §521.053, a business must notify affected individuals without unreasonable delay and no later than 60 days after determining that a breach occurred, and if at least 250 Texas residents are involved, it must notify the Attorney General within 30 days. Chapter 521 also requires reasonable procedures to protect sensitive personal information. The state is investing on its own side as well: Texas Cyber Command, created by House Bill 150 in June 2025 and based in San Antonio, focuses on protecting state and local government systems.
For a private company, the practical question is whether you could meet a 30-day clock. We start with a risk assessment, then put in place the controls that make an incident smaller and easier to scope: multi-factor authentication, endpoint protection, email security, logging and tested backups. We also write the incident response plan, including who calls counsel, your insurer and the Attorney General’s office. EVERNET works with Texas businesses remotely from Hartford, Connecticut. It is difficult to put into a review just how much we have valued this partnership. They have gone far beyond being a vendor to the Tarrant County Bar Association — they have become genuine supporters of our organization and the work we do. They have worked with us on everything from building our public-facing legal help website to guiding us through a complete rebranding and logo redesign. With every project, they take the time to understand our organization, our members, our mission, and what we are actually trying to accomplish rather than simply delivering a product. But what has impressed me most is how invested they have become in our success. They show up. They attend our events. They celebrate our wins. They bring us new ideas and look for ways they can help. When we work with them, it truly feels like we have another team in our corner. Our Bar Association is better because of this relationship, and I don't say that lightly. They have consistently gone above and beyond for us, and I am incredibly grateful for the creativity, responsiveness, enthusiasm, and genuine care they bring to everything they do. I cannot recommend them highly enough.Posted on Facebook![]()

EVERNET has played a pivotal role in our business growth. They have been a fantastic partner over the last year, doing everything from rebuilding our website to managing our IT difficulties to improving our internal processes. They took care of a lot of the headaches that come with small business ownership, which allowed me to focus on doing the work I love and getting more clients through the door. If your business needs help in marketing, IT, or security, I cannot recommend them enough.
