HR, onboarding and employee records in BambooHR
BambooHR is cloud HR software built for small and midsize businesses. It keeps employee records in one place and handles onboarding and offboarding, time-off requests, performance reviews, e-signatures and reporting. Add-ons cover applicant tracking, time tracking and, in the United States, payroll and benefits administration. HR managers, office managers and owners at growing companies are its usual users.
Where it fits
BambooHR fits organizations that have outgrown spreadsheets and paper files but do not need a large enterprise HR suite. It suits firms that want employees to view their own information, request time off and sign documents without emailing HR. Because it becomes the source of truth for who works at the company, it also plays a part in IT onboarding and offboarding. When HR records an employee’s start or end date, IT can create or remove accounts and devices on time.
How EVERNET helps
We help you compare BambooHR with other HR platforms and choose the package and add-ons that fit your headcount and process. During setup we help import employee records from spreadsheets or a prior system, configure single sign-on with Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace, and set user roles so managers see only what they should. We connect BambooHR to your CRM and business systems where an integration exists, and we build an onboarding and offboarding checklist that links HR events to IT tasks. We train HR staff and managers, then provide day-to-day managed support for access issues and integration problems.
Before you start
- Data: gather current employee records, job titles, managers and time-off balances, and decide what history to bring over.
- Permissions: agree on who is a full administrator and what managers and employees can view or edit.
- Integrations: list payroll, benefits, applicant tracking and directory systems that need to connect.
- Account ownership: set up the account under the company, with at least two administrators.
- Security settings: turn on single sign-on or multifactor authentication, since the system holds sensitive personal data.
- Policies: confirm time-off and approval rules before building them into the system.
Clean records at the start save hours of cleanup later, so we usually begin with a short data review.
Questions before you get started.
Which people-record or HR workflow is being evaluated?
Identify the people-record or HR process the organization wants to improve and the staff responsible for it. Map the information collected, approvals required and desired result. Evaluate BambooHR against that defined workflow, including the actual product configuration and the organization's handling of employee information.
Who is authorized to handle employee information and approve the HR-system configuration?
Give access to employee information according to defined responsibilities, and identify who approves system changes. The organization's HR decision-makers should govern policy and sensitive data handling. Review the proposed BambooHR setup with those owners so configuration choices reflect the business's authorized processes and access boundaries.
