How it fits
Accessibility that holds up after launch
Website accessibility lawsuits keep climbing. Seyfarth Shaw counted 3,117 federal ADA website lawsuits in 2025, up 27% from the year before, and state-court claims add more. Courts and the Department of Justice point to WCAG 2.1 Level AA as the working benchmark. A website accessibility audit shows where your site stands against it.
EVERNET’s audits combine automated scans with manual testing: keyboard-only navigation, screen reader checks, color contrast, forms and error messages, media and documents. Each issue is tied to the WCAG success criterion it fails, the pages it affects and the recommended fix, so your team or ours can remediate in priority order.
When the fix belongs in the design system, we build it there. EVERNET designs and rebuilds WordPress and Elementor sites with accessible templates, components and content practices, and managed website support keeps new pages from reintroducing old problems. On top of those fixes, we can add accessiBe, the accessibility widget we use on our own site, to give visitors controls for contrast, text size, spacing and motion. An audit is a technical review, not a legal opinion or a certification; your attorney should advise on legal risk.
What to work through.
A clear plan, from the first scan to ongoing upkeep.
Scope
Choose the templates, key user journeys, forms and documents that represent the site, rather than testing every URL the same way.
Automated scan
Run tools across the site to catch what software finds reliably, such as missing alt text, contrast failures and empty links.
Manual testing
Test with a keyboard and screen readers to find what scanners miss: focus order, unclear labels, inaccessible menus and dialogs.
Findings report
Get each issue mapped to its WCAG 2.1 AA success criterion, with severity, affected pages and a recommended fix.
Remediation
Fix templates and components first so one change repairs many pages, then clean up content, PDFs and media.
Upkeep
Add accessiBe for visitor controls, publish an accurate accessibility statement, train editors and retest after major changes so the site stays accessible.
Questions before you get started.
What does a website accessibility audit include?
A review of representative pages, templates, forms and documents against WCAG 2.1 Level AA, using automated tools plus manual keyboard and screen reader testing. You receive a findings report with priorities and recommended fixes. WCAG 2.2 criteria can be added to the scope.
Do you use accessibility widgets like accessiBe?
Yes. EVERNET runs accessiBe on our own website and can set it up for clients. It gives visitors tools to adjust the page and applies automated improvements. We treat it as a layer on top of an accessible site, not a substitute: we still audit, fix the code and content, and test with a keyboard and screen readers, because no automated tool can guarantee WCAG conformance.
Does an audit certify ADA compliance?
No. There is no official ADA certification for websites. An audit documents how the site measures against WCAG and what to fix. Advice about your legal obligations, or a response to a demand letter, should come from your attorney.
Do you work with towns and other public entities?
Yes. EVERNET works with municipalities preparing for the ADA Title II web rule, which requires WCAG 2.1 AA for state and local government websites and mobile apps. See website accessibility for municipalities.
How much does an accessibility audit cost?
It depends on the number of templates, user journeys and documents in scope and whether remediation is included. Schedule a call and we will scope it with you.
