Mississippi Association for Justice: Web Experience

Improve the join-page experience within an existing association platform.

Mississippi Association for Justice

Design approach

A clearer route into membership

The Mississippi Association for Justice wanted to improve the join-page experience within its existing association platform, MemberCentral. The goal was not a new website but a better route into membership on the site the association already uses. The brief on this page was to keep the application content in an understandable sequence, work within the existing system and branding, and treat page-level issues as part of the joining experience.

The artwork shows the live membership page in a browser, with a gold panel beside it that reads “Joining is an experience.” The association’s existing header, navigation and gold-outlined action buttons stay in place. A navy banner with a building photograph introduces the MAJ Online Membership Application. Below it, the form moves in order: membership category options, a licensing question, then name, firm and address fields. The caption “A scoped page within MemberCentral” makes the boundary of the work clear.

1. Keep membership application content in an understandable sequence.

2. Work within the existing MemberCentral system and association branding.

3. Resolve page-level issues as part of the joining experience, not as an unrelated maintenance task.

Why it works
A clear content sequence and resolved page issues help prospective members understand and complete the joining process.

The deliverable is a set of improvements to the membership application page within the association’s existing MemberCentral platform. Keeping the work inside the current system, rather than replacing it, means the page still matches the rest of the site and the association’s existing membership process. The clearer content sequence presents the application in a logical order, and resolving page-level issues keeps the path a prospective member follows to join clear from start to finish.
